Clinical health checks, vaccinations and fit-to-fly clearances.
From ISO microchip verification to strictly timed tapeworm treatments and blood antibody tests, we partner with trusted Cyprus veterinary clinics to ensure your pet is medically cleared for flight.
Airlines and border inspection posts mandate rigorous veterinary examinations before any animal can board a commercial flight. Through our established veterinary network across Cyprus — including our dedicated collaboration with CyVETS in Paphos — we schedule, oversee, and document all clinical health procedures to satisfy strict international standards.

Frequently asked about veterinary requirements
What is the 21-day rabies vaccination rule?
Under international animal travel laws, at least 21 days must elapse after the primary rabies vaccination before an animal can legally fly. If your pet has received continuous, unbroken booster vaccines within the validity period stated in their passport, this 21-day wait is waived.
When must the tapeworm treatment be administered for dogs entering the UK?
Under DEFRA rules, dogs entering Great Britain must be treated for Echinococcus tapeworm by a licensed veterinarian between 24 and 120 hours (1 to 5 days) before scheduled arrival in the UK. The exact treatment time, date, manufacturer, and vet stamp must appear in the passport.
Can we use our existing family veterinarian in Cyprus?
Yes, you are completely welcome to use your trusted family veterinarian for routine vaccinations and initial checkups. Alternatively, we can coordinate all pre-travel clinical exams and paperwork directly through our trusted partner clinics, such as CyVETS in Paphos.
Can pets be sedated for their flight?
No. IATA regulations and major airlines strictly prohibit chemical sedatives or tranquilizers. Sedation lowers blood pressure and disrupts an animal’s natural ability to regulate balance and body temperature at cruising altitude. We focus on gentle crate habituation and familiar scent blankets instead.
